In addition to the hybrid, the Vue will be available in XE, XR and Red levels of cutting line. These models offer a wide range of powertrains, including a more powerful four-cylinder engine and two V-6 choices mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. Later in the year model, a five-speed manual is available. The all-wheel drive is available with two V-6 engines.
Ride and handling
At the base of the European driving character is a corpse VUE, steel body-frame integral structure. Ride and handling is augmented by model-specific rates of adjustment of the spring and wheel travel. Stabilizer bars front and rear suspension independent front suspension with MacPherson struts and independent rear multi-link, along with a motor mount for double insulation, add to the smooth ride. Hydraulic steering on V-6 models, standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes, traction control and standard GM StabiliTrak electronic stability control an outstanding vehicle control.
A towing package with hook and wiring is available on all Vues. A stabilization system trailer uses active braking to help control the vehicle in situations of towing. The Vue (except Red Line) can also be towed as a "boat car" RV with all four wheels on the ground.
Security
In addition to handling features that help drivers avoid accidents, all-new Vue helps protect occupants with a long list of standard safety features for crash protection. Dual-stage front airbags for front seats, seat thorax airbags and side curtain airbags front and rear cover files are standard on all models.
In addition to the airbag is a detection system that uses sensors GM tipping proactively predict vehicle tip-up on a flat road and the braking force applied to the front and rear wheels to reduce the lateral force to the vehicle. Also active rail air bags if sensors determine a rollover roof imminent. Other standard safety features included in the first row dual safety belt pretensioners, active head restraints and collapsible pedals disengagement.
Like all Saturn vehicles, the Vue comes standard with GM's OnStar system, safety and security system, including a one-year subscription to the Safe & Sound project. If the vehicle is in a crash that activates an air bag, the system automatically notifies an OnStar advisor, who will contact the occupants and emergency call for help if necessary. OnStar also provides remote door unlocking service and can assist authorities in locating a vehicle if it is reported stolen.
